It has been almost seven years since the start of the conflict in Syria. The past couple of months has seen a massive escalation of attacks in Syria forcing hundreds of thousands of families to leave their homes for safety, escalating the numbers of internally displaced civilians. The sudden influx of internally displaced people is putting a huge strain on the resources of local populations who are already struggling to cope with the new move, supplies are diminishing and are not being replenished quick enough in line with the increased demand. We’re delivering and setting up tents in makeshift camps for internally-displaced families to provide them with adequate shelter as we coordinate emergency relief efforts for long-term support.

Despite not making it into the news more than 400,000 civilians have been displaced since the middle of November 2017, and the numbers are rising rapidly. Some families are being displaced more than once, and in some cases more than 3 times. When leaving their homes they’re more than often having to make decisions on what to take with them and what to leave behind in what was once their homes.

According to the United Nations “IDP sites are operating at 400% above their planned capacity to serve the affected people’s needs” . Our teams have been working round the clock over the winter period to deliver emergency aid to families who have recently become displaced.
