May 4th | Nine Years Later

May 4, 2016

May 4th:

Today is my 9th year “Rebirth anniversary” .

I have had 2 lives…Before and after May 4th 2007. On that day I woke up in a hospital room after hours in coma and more of surgery without knowing what had happened to me.

I was told I had just been in a tragic car accident. It kept me between hospitals and physical therapy for 3 years…And ended my tennis career.

On this video  I was 17 years old, already a professional tennis player and training 8 hours a day… I would have never imagined this to stop. It was my world, my job, my life. In a second my world changed. Nothing else mattered but to stay alive and heal. But hey, when you think your world has ended, you realize so much more than success and work matters…

I remember walking out of the hospital for the first time after weeks, feeling the sun and the wind on my face…I felt happiness. Happiness to be alive and noticing every single details from Mother Nature.

Never lose hope, enjoy the small things in life, nothing is impossible. Everything, believe me, everything happens for a reason and for you to become a better version of yourself.
